Gratitude

Thursday I will be 31(WOW) and I am reminded in times of crisis how lucky I am to be this far along in life!  I want to try to remember always all that I have to be grateful for. Please go through the list below and see how many things you are  thankful for and if I have forgotten anything… Please send it to me to add!

Send your prayers, well wishes or dollars to our friends in Haiti, seeing them sing and pray in the streets we remember there is always something to be grateful for!

I slept in a warm bed last night.

I am healthy.

I am walking in comfy shoes.

I have amazing friends…too many to list or I would!

I have a loving family.

I can help, love and laugh with others.

I can smell the ocean almost from my front door.

I can exercise and eat today.

I am not worried where my family is.

I am living in a country where people are willing to fight for my freedom.

I can Carpe Diem…You to…Go Now Seize!

Seafood Watch

Here is a resource that I love and carry with me all the time. The Seafood Watch is a great guide to what seafood is good and what to avoid. This list is updated annually. Check out Monterey Bay Aquarium for more details.

Carry the pocket guide that’s right for your region to help you choose ocean-friendly seafood wherever you live or travel. If you live near a boundary between two regions, we suggest that you look at both pocket guides and pick the one that lists the seafood items commonly found where you live.

Last Minute Shopping…Oh, My!

I remember the years past…making my lists…checking them twice.  I remember having every last gift wrapped and ready by Nov 1st, boy did I have a lot of free time then! This post is for all my last minute sisters and brothers who like I are starting to fight the inner anxiety of LAST MINUTE SHOPPING! AHH!

This year it is past Hanukah and 3 days til Christmas and my list is done, but alas…none of the shopping is!

Oh, my how I loathe the idea of the mall period…much less Christmas week! In this modern internet world one can shop without leaving the house (but the shipping is gonna cost ya!) and so this year I will bake and craft and do whatever it takes to keep from mall madness and shipping costs.

Need ideas, recipes and crafts…Check out our 10 Last Minute Gifts (Old School Blog Post)…

And if all else fails give an Artsy Drawn IOU:)

A Savy Chick’s Guide to Surviving the Holidays…

Never underestimate the power of a well put together P.L.A.N.

P- Put together some lists…check them twice.  Holiday Card List, Holiday Gift List, RSVP List and a Menu for your Hosted Events

L- Load up on extras to reduce stress.  I love to buy small back up gifts and cards(Just in case)… Buy a block of Manchego, a bottle of honey and balsamic glaze, some nuts and crackers (for that impromptu guest). Buy plain rolled paper and stamp to suite all styles and religious affiliations:). Lastly all the major stuff like TP, Paper towels, bottled water (flat and sparkling), etc.

A- Attitude is everything!!! Tis the season to be MERRY and HAPPY…set yourself up for perfect holidays with a glass half full – mentality:)

N- Never let’em see ya sweat…NEVER!  Let’s face it…odds are if ya forget something and you prepare ahead you will be able to do an old switch a roo…noone will know if you serve Brie instead of Camembert?? No one will know you have 12 back up ITunes gift Cards…Smile and remember it’s the THOUGHT that COUNTS!!!

Wishing ya LOVE, LAUGHTER, and YUMMY FOOD this holiday season.
